Project Notes: Juliette’s Teardrop

This classic: direct mail package contains all the “bells and whistles”. The client sent us a sample of the necklace and we got a word document for the “Juliette’s Teardrop” necklace with copy for each component. From there… we were on our own.

We decided to really bring the concept to life we needed custom photography not a download off of a web site…we need a “Juliette” to showcase the necklace. SchneiderCreative has a network of creative talent we can call on for whatever a project requires. In this case a really good photographer…a fashion photographer out of LA. Working remotely we sent him the concept the necklace and a tight budget (what else these days?). We selected our Juliette from headshots he posted on his working site. Within budget, he hired a hair /makeup artist, and we stepped back and let him do his thing. The results speak for themselves.

To showcase the product and photography we decided to use a unique size for the product brochure. The flat size was 17”x5.5” folding to 8.5” by 5.5”. This gave it the look of a “broadside” advertisement plus the size selection meant our client could maximize their ROI by printing the form 2-up on a standard 17”x11” sheet.

We designed the “look and feel” of all the other elements taking our inspiration from the well-written copy.
